Very sad news for those of us who grew up on Newsfield magazines and UK comics during the 80s and 90s.
Oli Frey has died. His artwork graced the covers of Crash and ZZap as well as a bunch of iconic British comics.

His Zzap!64 and Crash covers were awesome.

Owning an Amstrad computer I only had access to Amstrad User and Amstrad Action magazines in New Zealand and I remember always being envious of those other magazines due to the covers being so much better than everything else thanks to Oli and his amazing talent.

He also produced later issues of The Trigan Empire comic for Fleetway Publishing and while I liked Don Lawrence's style better they were still excellent work.

Very sad indeed.

I spent countless hours drooling over his Zzap covers as a child.. his artwork was inspirational and sensational!
RIP.
